Gosford Park 5/5
Altman puts together a story that seems to be a prequel to Downton Abbey in a lot of ways. The cast play their parts perfectly and, as usual, Altman gathers quite the lineup. It’s interesting to see some faces that are now much bigger stars thanks to roles in TV and other massive movies since this was released. The films is gorgeous to say the least with costumes and sets looking as elegant as any film set in this time piece could look. The twist and turns throughout keep you on your toes without becoming ridiculous. I don’t know what ever stopped me from seeing this previously but I’m glad I finally took the time to appreciate it.
