Moonrise Kingdom 4/5

I’ll start off by saying that I’m not a big Wes Anderson fan. I feel like he rehashes characters and plot devices. I’ve loved two of his movies though (Life Aquatic and Rushmore)This movie is one of his best to date. The first act is very much in line with all his previous work; beautiful colours, perfect framing, nice camera movement, and introducing characters/scenes via a minor character/narrator. The 2nd and 3rd act are what brought this movie to great. Wes Anderson finally explored set pieces that actually involved some sort of action as well as characters interacting with the drama. So with that, I am ever impressed with this and highly recommend it to any one that has slightly enjoyed his previous work.
